If you have ever wondered what came before the buildings that we know about - and what people did within them - then you won’t want to miss this! Please join the Irondequoit Historical Society and the Irondequoit Public Library on Thursday, December 4th, as we welcome Geoffrey Zeiner, the creator of an award-winning blog about the Rochester of yesterday, entitled ‘Gonechester.” In his blog, Geoffrey researches and documents the cultural heritage that has been lost in Rochester. During this presentation, he will use photographs, articles and primary documents to showcase several buildings in downtown Rochester that did not survive to the present. We will learn about Main Street as it used to be and the changes that have occurred. We will also learn what has been lost and what has survived.
Zeiner is a husband, and a father to two young children, Samara and Mason.
This event will be held at 7:00 PM in a first-floor meeting room of the Irondequoit Public Library, 1290 Titus Ave, 14617. The program is free and open to the public.
