Golden Hour in the Garden: Floral Box Workshop is an evening among friends and flowers. You'll wander the rows as the light goes soft and gold, hand-select your favorite blooms, and build your own floral box arrangement to take home.
Early September is peak dahlia and zinnia season here, and the beds are at their most generous, with big saturated blooms in every color we grow. You'll cut your own straight from the field, then settle in at the worktable for guided, step-by-step instruction. You'll learn how professional florists think about shape, balance, and color as you design in a keepsake floral box, the kind of arrangement that's ready to set on a table the moment you walk in the door. No experience needed. If you've never made an arrangement in your life, this is the loveliest possible place to start.
Whether you're coming with friends, celebrating an occasion, or just giving yourself two quiet hours among the flowers, this is an evening made for slowing down. Your ticket includes:
- Guided flower cutting in the garden at golden hour
- Peak-season dahlias and zinnias, plus seasonal filler flowers
- Your floral box and all design supplies
- Step-by-step instruction from start to finish

A note on the event: This is a working flower farm, so we cut what the garden is giving us that week. Early September is dahlia and zinnia season, and those are what you can count on. Any other blooms and filler are a lovely bonus, subject to what's ready. The garden sets the menu, and the weather sets the tone. Please be prepared with weather appropriate attire, and be sure to wear long sleeves and pants, and closed-toe shoes. This is a working flower farm and the terrain is uneven and unpredictable. If it's rains, we have a covered work space, and the experience will be all the more memorable. All guests must complete a short liability waiver before the event. We'll send you a confirmation email within 36 hours of the event along with a link to sign the waiver.
