After a unanimous vote during the 1971 Convention, the Golden Age
Fund was created with a promise to provide assistance for programs
to improve the lives of senior citizens. The Fund was inspired by the
Eagles’ role in the passing of the Social Security Act, the Jobs After
40 Program, Medicare and other national initiatives promoting the
wellbeing of seniors
