Hamile: The Tongo Hamlet is a Ghanaian interpretation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. An almost faithful adaptation, the film is set in "Frafra Land" in the Upper West Region of Ghana. The text remains mostly unchanged except where it is necessary for the locale. The Cast includes Kofi Middleton Mends, Ernest Abbeyquaye and Mary Yirenky and the film was directed by Terry Bishop.
