First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin announces the beginning of a nine-month learning opportunity, “God & Evolution.” The goal of the monthly series is to enrich our understanding of how God has worked and is working in creation as evidenced in cosmic, biologic, and cultural evolution. The foundation of the series is that the more we know about God’s evolutionary creation, the more we can be grateful for our current lives, our history, and our future.Participants may choose from two identical repeating sessions on the last Thursday of the month, 4-6 p.m. OR 7-9 p.m. beginning September 29. Sessions will be held in Hager Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 455 Scotland Street, Dunedin. Participants of ANY faith tradition or NO faith tradition are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The series will be co-led by Dr. Troy Abell, PhD, MPH, Dr. Lisa Baker, MD, PhD, and Dr. David Shelor, DMin, MSOD. Both Troy and Lisa retired after teaching at Baylor University and live in Dunedin. David is pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin.
