About this Event
Hello, my name is Kaileia! These are my "kids" Goatie, Lalu, and MoMo. Goats have brought me so much joy that I wanted to share them with others as well.
The idea of goats being therapeutic for me started two years ago when I began goatsitting for six goats, eight to ten cats, and two pigs. The goats were by far my favorite. I would spend most of my day with them because their presence made me feel so calm and present. They were independent, curious, and playful, which reminded me of my inner child.
The idea of goats being therapeutic for others started after I began taking my boys on walks at Celery Fields and Bayfront Park. I noticed so many people would just light up at the sight of these goats, laugh and lose any kind of serious demeanor they may have held. I am always surprised by the wide range of emotions contained within the memories and stories people have related to goats—everything from the way the goats eating out of their hands reminds them of feeding kangaroos back in Australia, to the mixed emotions that came with growing up with their grandmother who raised goats that they would name and love on only to one day serve them for dinner.
It seems goats have this ability to help people remember, which is all I want to do, and is why I created HeARTful Evolution in the first place!
If you love goats, you can follow our instagram @gogogoaties for weekly goat content and @heartfulevolution on IG and FB for updates on all kinds of fun community events and workshops that I'll be offering.
This event is targeted at the Sarasota/Bradenton community for any and all ages to enjoy the unique experience of therapeutic goat interaction!
Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about goats and/or natural goat care.
Please note that the goats do nibble (be mindful of jewlery and valuables) and occasionally jump up on people (especially if you have food). This is an outdoor event in South Florida so mosquitoes are a thing. I'll have a variety of bug sprays and natural bug cream available of course but I recommend wearing long pants as a preventative measure, as well as closed-toe shoes that you do not mind getting dirty and because goats have hooves, not paws!
The 12$ recommended donation goes towards caring for these babies and helping me as a Ringling graduate cover daily living costs and expenses.
