About this Event
Did you know that residential buildings account for nearly 25% of all energy usage in Oregon? Zero energy homes change the equation by producing enough renewable electricity to meet their entire annual consumption. By combining energy-efficient design with solar power, these homes are healthier, quieter, more comfortable, and significantly more affordable to run. Getting started is easier than you think, and we're here to help you take the next step!
Join us on Saturday, October 3rd between 1 - 4 PM to...
- Visit three homes to view their setups and systems
- Meet the homeowners and builders behind each site
- Hear about their experiences going net zero
- Discover the value that energy efficiency provides!
Afterward from 3 - 5 PM, visit us at Hi-Top Tavern on Fremont for a Happy Hour featuring free food and videos of other net-zero homes across the state!

Tour Format & Locations
The event includes a self-guided walking tour of three homes in the Rose City Park neighborhood of Portland that are either net-zero or on the path to net-zero. All in-person locations are within walking distance, and a map will be provided closer to the event.
We’ll wrap up with a happy hour at Hi-Top Tavern, where you'll find videos and information showcasing additional net-zero homes from across Oregon—not just the Portland Metro area. Non-alcoholic drinks, light snacks, and dessert will be provided. Alcohol will be available to purchase.
