Go Texan Day Youth Art Competition - Understory Downtown Houston

Go Texan Day Youth Competition is a COVID-19 cautionary event which provides a platform for creatives to showcase and sell their work in a safe and uplifting environment. This event will take place at Understory located in the Bank of America Tower in Downtown Houston, Tx.

Since 2016, All Access Art's goal has been to connect art lovers city-wide with local emerging talent. Our team promotes one of Houston’s leading art events that shines light on over 25+ local creatives. Artists are encouraged to showcase and sell their products in a creative community-based environment for all to experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION

We are excited to partner with Downtown Houston's underground utopia and food hall - Understory, located in the Bank of America Tower. This is our first kids/youth art competition and we are calling out to all aspiring artists from the ages of 4-17 to participate in this contest and showcase their artwork! Prizes are as follows:

- 1st Place: 4 Premium Rodeo Concert Tickets in the Lower Level

- 2nd Place: 4 Rodeo Grounds Season Passes

- 3rd Place: 4 Rodeo Grounds Entry Tickets & Carnival Passes

SPACE IS LIMITED. Join us for this great opportunity to get your child to be inspired and express their creative talents.

There are NO COSTS to participate but ask that each artist must follow the submission process. In order to submit your work, you must meet the following requirements:

- the MAXIMUM size of artwork is 20 x 24

- be between the ages of 4 - 17 years old

- all FINAL work on paper must be matted or framed (NO Exceptions)

- The 2 categories are Rodeo Landscape and Livestock. Details below:

Rodeo Landscape includes depictions of different terrains and landscapes applicable to Texas, rodeo attire, and portraits of persons depicted or displayed in rodeo theme.

Livestock includes any animal or living creature applicable to Texas and must match the rodeo theme.

HOW TO SUBMIT

If your child would like to showcase at this event, please note the following:

Email us the BELOW information at [email protected] by 2/18/22 to be entered into the event. (Please have photos of your child's artwork ready to submit)

- 2 pieces max per person can be entered to showcase but ONLY 1 can be entered in the competition for either the Rodeo Landscape category or Livestock category. There will be a first, second, and third place winner for each category.

- Send an image of the artwork cropped and unframed, if applicable. Include a brief description of the artwork. (Title, size, and medium)

- **Send an additional image of the artist holding artwork ** This photo will be used if/when your child wins to promote on social media platforms and publications(with parental consent).

*- Early drop-off dates & locations will be emailed to the parents of the young creatives once registration is complete.

VOTING

Voting will take place all week from February 21 - February 25th at Understory where all artwork will be displayed. QR codes and links will also be available onsite and online readily available. Voting will end PROMPTLY at 12PM and winners will be announced live on social media on February 25th in celebration of Go Texan Day at 2PM!

The All Access Art team is following guidance from local health departments and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding large gatherings, including CDC recommendations on preventing the spread of COVID-19.

If you do choose to attend the Go Texans Day Youth Art Show 2022 Exhibition to vote please keep in mind the CDC recommendations on how to keep yourself and others healthy:

• All vendors are highly recommend to wear a mask while inside the venue. (if not vaccinated).
• All guest are highly recommend to wear a mask while inside the venue. (if not vaccinated).

• Both vendors and guest are asked to keep 6ft apart for effective social distancing, to the best of their ability.
• Take advantage of the numerous hand sanitation stations that will be provided throughout the venue.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.”
