For this and many reasons, we'd love to pack the house on December 4th! Thanks so much for being part of our musical journey so far, and for being the best neighbors.
About the Artists:
Jen Sygit:
Sometimes traditional, sometimes contemporary, always imbued with a raw honesty, Lansing based Independent Music Award winning songwriter Jen Sygit wields a rare and powerful talent that seems equally comfortable performing ethereal folk tunes, crooning sultry swing numbers or soulfully belting gritty alt country ballads. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist who isn’t afraid to test boundaries and cross genres, Jen’s eclectic musical style draws the listener in and holds them captivated. Her poignant lyrics tinged with a delicate melancholy, reveal an oft-overlooked beauty to life’s mundane struggles while offering the occasional glimpse into the plight of a modern day troubadour.

NAMI Lansing:
Mission:
NAMI Lansing, Mid-Michigan’s Voice on Mental Illness, provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental health conditions can build better lives.
Vision:
NAMI Lansing envisions a mid-Michigan community where everyone affected by mental health conditions can live healthy, fulfilling lives, supported by a caring community. NAMI Lansing reaches out with compassion to individuals with mental health conditions and their families who may feel alone, overwhelmed, or hopeless, connecting them to resources, support, and hope.
NAMI Lansing understands the deep love required to support someone with a mental health condition. We are dedicated to educating the public about the need for research, system reform, and better support for individuals and their families. Education and support fosters acceptance and hope for recovery.
NAMI Lansing offers free evidenced-based classes and support groups that provide practical support and information. Community presentations such as In Our Own Voice and Ending the Silence help increase mental health awareness, reduce stigma and illustrate recovery.
History:
Founded in 1974 as the Oasis Fellowship, NAMI Lansing was one of the first support groups for families of individuals with mental illnesses. It initially focused on arranging housing for patients discharged from state hospitals. Despite local objections, the group continued its advocacy.
When the National Alliance for Mental Illness was formed, the Oasis Fellowship became the Alliance for Mental Illness of Greater Lansing. In 1999, it adopted the NAMI name to align with the national organization.

About The Good Neighbor Concert Series:
The mission of The Good Neighbor Concert Series is to deliberately invest in the people of the Greater-Lansing area (and beyond), inspire those people to invest in others, and create positive ripple effects that extend farther than we could ever imagine.
This series aims to elevate voices that would otherwise not, or seldom be heard in existing performance spaces (e.g., emerging artists, women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA, various faith perspectives, and other minority/marginalized populations).
Season 1 (2024-2025) will focus specifically on highlighting Michigan’s fantastic roster of female singer/songwriters, and will draw from a combination of local talent and artists from all around the state.
The series takes place at Stage One at Sycamore Creek Eastwood (https://www.facebook.com/stageonemi). It will occur roughly once a month, and be held on select Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Every event will partner with local food-based startup businesses to provide a variety of concession items for purchase at the event in the time between when the doors open and when the music begins.
Each event will also feature a different nonprofit organization, which will receive a minimum of 10% of the proceeds from both ticket sales and concessions. The nonprofit partner organizations will also have the opportunity to table at the event so that patrons can learn more, get involved, and/or donate additional funds directly if desired.
We look forward to seeing you at one or more shows soon!
