GMG Workshop: Battery Electric Vehicles in Underground Mining - Version 4
About this Event
Join us in Sudbury for a collaborative workshop focused on gathering early input on the Implementation of Battery Electric Vehicles in Underground Mining – Version 4 guideline. As the industry continues to evolve, we want to better understand whether updates or clarifications may be needed and, if so, where the priorities should be.
This half‑day session brings together practitioners, operators, OEMs, technology suppliers, and subject‑matter experts to share perspectives on the current guideline and identify areas that may require attention.
During this workshop, participants will:
- Receive a refresher on GMG’s guideline review and revision process
- Share insights on which sections of the current guideline may need updating
- Break into groups to examine potential priority areas in more depth
- Help shape the decision on whether a formal review should proceed and what its scope might be
Whether you’ve contributed to previous versions or are joining the process for the first time, your experience and perspective are essential. This session is designed to be interactive, practical, and grounded in real operational needs. The outcomes will help determine next steps, including opportunities to volunteer or lead future work if a revision moves forward.
If you’re involved in underground electrification, mine operations, engineering, safety, maintenance, or technology development—and want to help ensure this guideline continues to reflect current industry practice—this session is for you.
In registering for this event, you agree to receive additional information on GMG activities. You can opt out at any time. For any in-person portion of the event you give GMG permission to use any photos or videos in which you appear that were taken at this event.
