About this Event
The Game Music Ensemble at UCLA is proud to host another installment of its masterclass series. We welcome Andrew Campbell, CEO of Steam Music, for a lecture and discussion on music publishing with topics relevant to composers, recording artists, game developers, and other rights holders.
This masterclass offers composers and music creators a practical introduction to the world of international music publishing and synchronization. Participants will gain insights into how music publishing operates across global markets, the role of publishers and sub-publishers, and how international rights management and royalty collection work. The session also explores how music is placed in film, television, advertising outside the US and highlighting the opportunities and challenges of the global sync market. Through real-world examples and industry insights, participants will discover how international publishing and sync strategies can help build sustainable careers and maximize the worldwide potential of their music.
