About this Event
In this two-day workshop we will take three colors, (plus black and white) and develop a color palette in which all of the colors work together. This results in paintings that glow beautifully and saves you $$!
2-day workshop.
April 2nd and 3rd, 10am-4pm with 1 hour lunch break
$150/person
Materials
• A triad of oil paints, plus black and white. (No water-soluble oils) I recommend staying from true primary or true secondary colors. Go for a blue-green, yellow-orange, and red-violet. Three that work really nicely include Indian Yellow, Quinacridone Magenta, and Phthalo Turquoise
• ¾”-1” wide flat brush.
• 2-3 sheets of Arches 140lb. cold-pressed oil paper, 16x20 or 22x30
• Palette knives for mixing and/or for painting. (Knives with offset handles work best.)
• 1-1/2” wide painter’s tape, or similar. Needs to be removable.
• Freezer paper or a flat palette to mix color on.
• Paper towels
• Notebook and pen/pencil
• Ruler
• Recommended: latex or nitrile gloves, work apron, or painting clothes
• Gamsol (or other odorless solvent of your choice) for cleanup
