------ Further Info -------
Fire & Water is both a physical space in the heart of Sowerby Bridge and a wider local place-making initiative with the aim of creating a landmark centre for arts, culture, community and education in the former Fire Station and Swimming Baths of Sowerby Bridge. The annual Winterlight Festival was an outdoor ‘feast of sights and sound’ created by a group of artists, musicians and technicians to raise awareness of the building and to help envisage ways of using it in the long term that benefit a wide cross section of people.

The Fire Station Theatre is a venue for performance, music, arts and community within the Fire and Water arts centre. It is an incubator space and testbed for people to try things out, experience new things, collaborate and encounter together. It has hosted gigs, performances, plays, workshops, parties, meetings, and creative get-togethers for people of all ages and backgrounds. The space is volunteer-led and the programme is shaped by its users. The Fire Station is an engine room for new forms of creativity and community building in Sowerby Bridge.
