Move your body, connect with others, and explore global dance traditions right here in Queenstown! All for FREE!
The Global Groove Mini-Series is a celebration of movement, music, and culture. Each month, we'll spotlight a different style of dance with a fun, beginner-friendly workshop led by passionate local facilitators.
No dance experience? No worries. These sessions are about joy, connection, and cultural sharing—not perfection. Come solo or bring a friend. All are welcome!

💃 SESSION 1: HAKA
Sunday 27 July | 1:00–3:00pm
Facilitated by: Mana Tahuna
Learn the meaning, movements, and mana behind the powerful haka. This workshop introduces you to the cultural origins of haka, and gives you space to move, listen, and connect in a respectful and welcoming environment.

💃 SESSION 2: BACHATA
Tuesday 26 August | 6:00–8:00pm
Facilitated by: Matias & Helene (QT Salsa)
Get into the rhythm of the Dominican Republic with this energetic and joyful Latin dance. No partner needed—just comfy shoes and a sense of fun!

💃 SESSION 3: AFRO DANCE

Facilitated by: Melina Shabel (AfroDance QT)
Experience a high-energy, feel-good session inspired by contemporary African beats and traditional dance roots. Melina brings movement, rhythm, and an infectious love for dance.

💃 SESSION 4: BELLY DANCING
Tuesday 28 October | 6:00–8:00pm
Facilitated by: Beekela Francis
Rooted in Middle Eastern traditions, this graceful dance celebrates self-expression and connection to the body. A warm, empowering space to try something new and beautiful.
