Global Game Jam - Victoria

Create video games and join with creators around the world for this in person game jam!

Event opens at 5pm on Friday Jan 30th with time to meet other local creators and form teams. We will have a short presentation on the 3rd floor of The Dock, then move down to the first floor for the remainder of the jam!
Doors open at 10am on Saturday and Sunday

Doors close at 9pm daily (though feel free to continue working at home!)

Closing Presentation starting at 6:30pm on Sunday Feb 1st

• Feel free to bring friends from the community!

There will be a general open working area and some office spaces available on a first come first served basis.

Global Game Jam is for all kinds of creatives, whether you’re experienced or brand new!

• Programmers / Developers
  Learn a new engine, prototype fast, and turn ideas into playable games.
• 2D Artists / Illustrators
  Create characters, environments, UI, icons, and bring sketches to life.
• 3D Artists / Modelers
  Build and optimize models, props, and environments using your favorite tools.
• Sound Designers
  Create and edit sound effects that give games impact and personality.
• Music Composers
  Write original music and adaptive loops designed for gameplay.
• Game Designers
  Shape mechanics, balance gameplay, and help define the player experience.
• Producers / Project Managers
  Keep teams organized, on scope, and moving toward the deadline.
• First-time Jammers & Students
  Learn by doing, collaborate with others, and ship something in 48 hours!
• Writers / Narrative Designers
  Craft dialogue, lore, characters, and storytelling moments. (this role requires a lot of communication with programmers to make sure it fits into the viability and scope of the project)
