About this Event
Glimmer
July 11-25 | by reservation only | free
Glimmer is an exhibition by Aliyah Cydonia through AMOC's 2024 AiR series. In this exhibition, the work will reflect the spiritual connection and the epigenetics to her lineage. Through an experimental short-film, folk-tales and story-telling shared by family will be highlighted in the exhibition.
Artist Note
This exhibition is a reflection of my life and the hows and whys of how i am today. From the influences of the women i was raised around and the ones who birthed me. A montage of old and new videos of the faces of my mothers and myself, the product of them. I feel called to share the stories of these women because they make up so much of the person I am today. The video will be 5-7 minutes on a loop with the directional speakers pointed towards the benches.
