About this Event
Come and join us for gleaning! You will receive information about the location and details on what to bring when you register for the trip.
Accessibility Information
This farm is large with many different fields that we visit depending on what crop the farmer has available. Crew meets in the parking lot by the farm stand. Volunteers can sometimes drive from the meeting location to the field and park there, and other times will park in a large lot and walk 2-12 minutes to the field. Terrain is inconsistent.
Gleaned Produce Available for Volunteers: Yes - Gleaned produce will be available to volunteers. Volunteers can take home harvested crop that doesn't fit into our packing bins or go to the fields to pick their own AFTER the completion of the glean. So bring a reusable bag to take home produce after gleaning! The farm also has a farm stand.
Farm Stand: Yes
Public Transportation Accessible: No
Restroom: Flushing toilet available by their market.

What are the physical demands of a gleaning trip?
We want our gleans to be as accessible as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about your physical ability in relation to a gleaning trip, don't hesitate to reach out to us. During a glean, volunteers can assist with harvesting or packing. Usually, we need the most help with harvesting. Packing entails transferring the crop from the harvest totes into boxes or bins, weighing them, and loading them onto the truck. Every glean is different -- if we know what crop we will be harvesting ahead of time, that information will be contained in the title of the event on Eventbrite. In general, harvesting may require bending / kneeling / squatting, lifting, and carrying harvest totes (which are as heavy as you fill them) to the packing area, which may be a few hundred feet away from the harvest area. If our team has access to information about a specific farm or crop beforehand, we’ll be sure to include it in this event description and the order confirmation email.
What is the weather policy for a gleaning trip?
Hope's Harvest is ready to glean in most weather conditions, and we aren't scared of some rain! However, we do not proceed with gleaning in any heavy downpours or storms. If a glean needs to be canceled due to severe weather, a Hope's Harvest team member will contact you in advance via email. If you do not receive any communication, the glean is still scheduled to proceed as planned, and we look forward to your participation!
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We encourage everyone who is either seeking a carpool ride to gleaning events or has the ability to offer a ride to others, to utilize to coordinate a carpool schedule among themselves. Please carpool at your own discretion. There will be parking available at all farms, and instructions will be given in the order confirmation after registering!
