A night of soulful storytelling, where rhythm meets vulnerability.
About this Event

Step into a night where rhythm meets vulnerability at this poetic speakeasy featuring MJ Blackwell. You'll get to experience an evening of soulful storytelling as MJ intertwines her journey through loneliness, self-discovery, and the creative spirit, accompanied by live jazz music.

Before the pandemic, MJ faced her own battles: anxiety, unfulfilling jobs, and the struggle to assert her artistic voice in a world that felt stifling. Laid off and forced to confront the distractions that kept her from moving forward, she embarked on a transformative journey. Through writing and online poetry workshops, MJ found her passion and the courage to embrace her creativity.

Join us for an intimate night in a beautiful and intimate space, where MJ will share rhythmic poetry pieces that reflect her evolution and resilience. This is more than just a performance; it’s an invitation for you to show up in your own creative calling.

MJ will also offer original flameworked glass jewelry from her MJBlackwellArt line which is made right here in Brooklyn.
