Our FOUNDATION YEARS (3-8yrs) teaching certificate is a 50 hours training course. It is certified by Yoga Alliance Professionals (YAP)28 hours will be contact time, with a Senior Little Greene Yoga® trainer, and 22 hours will be prep & homework.
Contact time can be done IN-PERSON or ONLINE but will need to be done in real-time.
The Foundation Years (3-8yrs) syllabus is split into 3-5yrs & 5-8yrs as there is quite a developmental difference in these age groups and the techniques used to keep the children engaged over the age group!
Little Greene Yoga have developed a full suite of training programmes based on over 20 years of teaching children yoga, both in a school classroom & studio environment! Our courses are all about educating children on the connection between the physical & the emotional - the mind & the body!
Class plans use functional movement to keep bodies healthy and developing. We use techniques to develop proprioception (awareness of where our body is in time and space) which also helps with brain development - the brain and the body communicate, relaying information back and forth, fine tuning movement based on feedback.
The children are continually being challenged and developed, physically and emotionally, at each developmental stage, using age appropriate techniques to engage and motivate, while having fun!
Our training courses are all about sharing our knowledge and techniques with you!
All of our instructors are trained to the highest standards. Certification is obtained by passing both a written and practical exam with a full class of school children! ( This is nothing to worry about as our step by step, nurturing, training ensures you are ready for this - PROMISE!)
