Glasgow Women's Group launch

Would you like to have more fun and friendship in your life?

Scottish Women's Institutes have recently experienced a revival of women's groups geared toward meeting the needs of 21st Century women. These groups bring women together to have fun, make friends, learn new skills, and support one another.

A new group has just been set up in Knightswood but we know there is interest in the southside, east end and north of Glasgow too, so come along to this social event and meet other women, find out more and help us get started where you live.

The groups are open to women of all ages – whether young mums, workers or retirees – who want to meet once a month at a time that suits all. You can shape the groups and discuss what interests and activities you would like to participate in – whether it's music, trips, walking, leisure, crafts, fashion, gin tasting, or health and wellbeing... the opportunities for the group are endless!

About our venue

The Haberdashery is a gorgeous new event and wedding venue in the heart of Glasgow, owned by young businesswomen Nikki Fairfull and Afton Ferguson, who have kindly part-sponsored the evening. We thank them hugely for their support and are delighted to help showcase their fabulous space. The girls will have the bar open all evening at very reasonable prices, so please support them if possible.

And it's all women together as The Haberdashery was once a ladies’ tailors which operated in the building for more than 50 years. It's the perfect location for a glass of fizz with its traditional cornicing, marble pillars and exposed brick. See thehaberdasheryglasgow.com for more.

Getting there

The Haberdashery is conveniently located at 545 Sauchiehall Street, just behind The Mitchell Library. It's just a five minute walk from Charing Cross Train Station, St Georges Cross subway and has various bus stops nearby.

On-street parking is available outside the venue and a private car park located two minutes away at www.glasgow.gov.uk/charingcrosscarpark. We also find www.yourparkingspace.co.uk useful for pre-booking on-street spaces.
