Enjoy a day in the country in Carmunnock, Glasgow's last village. With cottages and tenements dating back to the 1700's, a village green, old wells and an ancient Kirk, visiting Carmunnock really is like stepping back in time, and all within the city of Glasgow!
There will be guided tours of the Church which dates back to 1767. The Castlemilk Hall, the social hub of the village will host a photographic archive exhibition and there is a permanent self guided Village Heritage Trail to enjoy.
Heritage Trail
You can explore the village by following our self guided Village Heritage Trail.
16 QR codes around the village link to fantastic short films telling the stories of the buildings and residents of yesterday including weavers, washerwomen, lairds and even a Beatle!
