“Giving A Good Death”. BECKY’S GIFT invites you to join us 10/19 for this powerful presentation. The topic is a hard one. But one that we as animal owners must confront. Death is a phase of life, and those final moments are perhaps the most important ones of all. For some of us horse owners, our harsh winters logistically bring thoughts of equine euthanasia to the forefront during the fall season. With emotions struggling around how a medically compromised equine partner may fare until a more forgiving spring.Co-hosted by Becky’s Gift and Old Dogs Go To Helen, our featured speaker is the well-known and highly regarded Helen St. Pierre. Founder of a hospice sanctuary for animals, Helen has dedicated many years to caring for animals, large and small, at the end of life. She holds multiple certifications, including peaceful euthanasia, as well as end of life doula.
Helen St. Pierre will focus on the physiological process of death, euthanasia vs. natural death, factors in decision making (including the emotional ones), and considerations for afterward, such as, memorializing after death. There will be time for questions/discussion after.
This 2 hour presentation is free (donations to BG and/or ODGTH are welcomed). And again, it’s not just for those with horses. It’s for any animal (large or small) owner.
