Giroscope's 40th Anniversary Dinner
About this Event
It is 40 years since Giroscope began.
What started as a small group of people tackling empty homes and housing problems in West Hull has grown into something much bigger: bringing neglected buildings back into use, creating genuinely affordable homes, and supporting people into skills, work, enterprise and opportunity along the way.
Now we would love you to join us as we mark this milestone.
Our 40th Anniversary Dinner will take place at our beautiful, newly restored St Matthew’s Enterprise Centre, on Thursday 24 September 2026, from 6.30 pm until late.
This building tells part of the Giroscope story in its own right. Once empty, it has now been brought back to life as a place for enterprise, community and new ideas.
The evening will be hosted by Lucy Thompson, a business owner, former BBC Radio Humberside presenter and experienced event host. Having recently hosted Future Humber’s opening event for Humber Business Week, Lucy brings warmth, professionalism and a strong regional presence to the celebration.
Expect good food, music, entertainment and conversation with friends, partners and supporters of Giroscope as we celebrate what has been achieved over the past four decades and look ahead to what comes next.
Tickets are now available.
Individual tickets are £100 per person.
A full table of 8 is available for £800.
Proceeds from the evening will support Giroscope’s vital work: creating affordable homes, restoring empty buildings, developing skills and enterprise, and building stronger neighbourhoods through practical, community-led action.
Deep roots. Bold futures.
