This class was born from the friendship between Rosita and Amy — two women who have grown incredibly close over time, sharing late nights of wine, pizza, cooking, and many deep, joyful conversations. Amy has been a huge support to Rosita and Rosita’s Cocina during difficult times, and together they wanted to create a class that celebrates community, connection, and the simple joy of cooking with someone you love.

So grab your best friend, your favorite bottle of wine, and get ready for an unforgettable night of sweet, savory, creamy, crispy kitchen magic.

Chef Amy is a culinary gem whose background blends world-class pastry, global flavor exploration, and deep community care.

She graduated from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 1990, later becoming the Head Pastry Chef at Marais, one of Boston’s most beloved fine-dining restaurants. She taught professional baking courses, managed a specialty cheese & gourmet shop in Toronto, and eventually transitioned into veterinary medicine, where she has spent the last 20 years as a deeply loved and respected caregiver.

Amy has traveled the world tasting desserts, studying techniques, and bringing home her favorite methods — and now she shares them at Rosita’s Cocina. Beyond her culinary excellence, she has been a rock for Rosita personally and professionally. Her kindness, strength, and generosity are part of what makes this class so special.

Rosita is the heart and soul behind Rosita’s Cocina — known for her bold flavors, Mexican street-food style, vibrant energy, and passion for teaching. Her corn masa empanadas are one of her signature dishes, and in this class she will guide you step-by-step through the technique of preparing masa, shaping empanadas by hand, and frying them to golden perfection.

You will make:
