Lyzz Mitrović & Stacey Councilman
Lyzz Mitrovic has been training martial arts since 2010. She started her journey with a Korean Japanese Martial Art called Hapkido, receiving her Black Belt in 2013. Wanting to learn more martial arts, she began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2014. She quickly became an avid and tough competitor in BJJ and after numerous competition accolades, received her Black Belt in 2019 under Dustin Akbari. You'll usually find her on the mats at Precision Jiu-Jitsu Academy teaching and training, going for Gold in BJJ competitions, or pursuing her other obsessions of Kombucha and Tabletop Gaming

Stacey Councilman began her BJJ journey in early 2014 doing No-Gi out of a garage gym and traveling to 10th Planet Walnut Creek and 10th Planet San Francisco regularly. Three months later she was competing regularly and placing 1st or 2nd consistently. Although she trained Gi at Rice Bros BJJ in Redding, a few times a week, she mostly stuck to No-Gi as a white belt. She trained through her purple belt at Infinite Jiu-Jitsu under Gustavo Enriquez (Cassio Werneck Jiujitsu), In January 2021 she opened her own school The Warriors Forge | Cobra Kai Roseville. While continuing her BJJ journey with Tyler Brey (Cassio Werneck Jiujitsu), and Scott Chapman (Alliance - Chad Bingham), while competing under the Cassio Werneck flag, and earning her brown belt in June of 2021.
She is also the founder of the The Warrior Forged Project and host HERO Self Defense and Mean Girl Project courses In 2021 and 2022 she achieved the title of #1 Female Brown Belt Master 3 in Gi, M3 Open Class (2021 & 2022), and M3 Grand Slam points for IBJJF. She is also ranked #2 in NoGi. She has won the Master Worlds Championship at every colored belt level (blue through Brown -2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021 - 2x at brown belt).

Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events which are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together and take over the mats! Women and girls of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend from any academy affiliation. We welcome beginners and don't require any experience. Our events are designed for 100% participation. However, we do allow parents or chaperone to accompany underage participants as spectators.

Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate.
