Girls in Aviation Day Dallas 2024

WHAT IS IT?

The North Texas Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) will be hosting its annual Girls in Aviation Day, a FREE program for girls under 18 designed to introduce them to the possibilities and opportunities available through a career in aviation. The goal is to empower girls with the confidence and knowledget to pursue their interests in the aviation field, fostering the next generation of female aviation professionals.

September 21st, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m

WHERE IS IT?

The Henry B. Tippie National Aviation Education Center at Dallas Executive Airport, 5657 Mariner Dr., Dallas, TX 75237.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to women in various fields of aviation and aerospace, including pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, business owners, safety professionals and more. Exciting hands-on activities, such as flight simulators, build-a-helicopter, aviation phonetics, and more will also be available. Attendees will also be able to walk around and interact with a variety of aircraft.

The VIP Program for high school girls will feature advanced activities, mentoring, and hands-on, real-world experience - including a resume writing station!

Space is limited for keynote speaker(s) and flight simulator slots. Passes will be available onsite on a first-come, first-serve basis.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Is there anything included with my FREE ticket? Limited quantities of Girls in Aviation Day backpacks, Aviation for Girls magazines, and other goodies will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Entrance includes aviation-themed activities, giveaways, and keynote speakers.
   
2. Do I need to get a ticket for myself and my child? All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their stay at the event. Please register all children AND adults in your party with the proper tickets.
   
3. Are there souvenirs available for purchase? Girls in Aviation Day T-shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase on the day of the event for a suggested $20 donation. If you've attended our event in years past, we encourage you to wear your Girls in Aviation Day T-shirt!
   
4. Is food available? Lunch will be available for purchase at the event with drinks and light snacks available at our consession stand.
   
5. Can I bring my own food? Yes, but we ask that you eat it only in designated areas to protect the exhibits.
   
6. Is parking available on-site? Free parking is available but will be limited so please plan to carpool as possible.

Important Ticket Notes:

1. Please bring a digital copy of you EventBrite tickets with you as they will be scanned when you enter.
2. Even though this event is free, if you cannot attend, please return your EventBrite tickets to allow other patrons to attend this awesome event.
