🟡 Shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, the film reveals in detail the systems behind Israel’s calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
◼️ The film’s title – NAZA – is a term that appears throughout the documentary. It is a military acronym euphemistically used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians that it expects will be killed in an airstrike.
🎞️ The film is directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, the two Israeli directors of the four co-directors of 2024 Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, and is produced by the Guardian and James Wilson (JW Films) and executive produced by Jonathan Glazer. Wilson and Glazer are the Oscar-winning team behind The Zone of Interest.

🎤 In the discussion following the film, we will explore how how the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is portrayed in the media, both in the Czech Republic and around the world, and what makes the attitudes of Czech society and the political elite towards Israel and Palestine distinctive. Our guest will be political scientist Tereza Plíštilová, who works at the Peace Research Centre Prague at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, and at the Institute of International Relations in Prague. Her research focuses on how the conflict is framed in the media and politics on both the Czech and international stages.
