Gilla Band revient avec Giraffe, premier nouveau titre en près de quatre ans, marquant une nouvelle étape dans le parcours du quatuor dublinois. Depuis plus d’une décennie, le groupe mené par Dara Kiely, Alan Duggan Borges, Daniel Fox et Adam Faulkner redéfinit les contours de ce que l’on peut appeler le rock au XXIe siècle.
Révélé par une approche radicale et sans compromis, Gilla Band a imposé une esthétique faite de déconstruction, de tension et de saturation, saluée notamment pour Most Normal, décrit comme une œuvre majeure de chaos maîtrisé. Sur scène, leur intensité scénique leur a valu une réputation d’expérience limite, entre urgence physique et vertige sonore.
Ni tout à fait post-punk, ni totalement noise rock, leur musique trace une forme hybride et instable, immédiatement reconnaissable. Avec Giraffe, le groupe poursuit cette exploration, confirmant sa position centrale dans les formes les plus aventureuses du rock contemporain.

Giraffe is the first new music from Gilla Band in nearly 4 years. This follows their critically acclaimed 3rd album Most Normal which Pitchfork described in a best new music review as “a masterpiece of panic and deconstruction”. Live The Guardian described the band’s set as feeling “genuinely dangerous, like one last rave before the apocalypse, and as perfect an expression of rock’n’roll’s essential auto-destructive impulse as this writer’s ever heard”.
For over ten years now, the Dublin quartet — vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner — have been redefining what you could loosely call “rock music” in the 21st century, influencing a wide swath of similarly forward-thinking guitar acts along the way. The band perfected a vision that wasn’t quite post-punk, wasn’t quite noise-rock, wasn’t quite anything besides an idiosyncratic, ground-breaking hybrid that could only come from the four of them - Giraffe is their bold new offering.
