About this Event

Founded in Southern California in 1994, is a website and former bimonthly magazine focusing on Asian and Asian American popular culture. Giant Robot started as a photocopied punk-influenced zine created by former UCLA classmates Eric Nakamura and Martin Wong. Giant Robot later expanded into a full-color publication that covered art, design, Asian-American issues, travel, and much more.

This event includes a screening of the documentary from PBS Artbound (2022), followed by a quention-and-answer session with magazine co-founder Martin Wong.

This event is presented as part of Foo Foo Festival, in conjunction with HalloZine Festival and HizashiCon. There are many other exciting activities taking place as part of these events between Thurs, Oct 29 and Sunday, Nov 1.
