Giant Jacob's Ladders
About this Event
Jacob's Ladders are one of bookbinding's oldest tricks. A clever fold and bind technique that lets the piece tumble and rotate, revealing a hidden second image as it moves. In this workshop, kids will learn the technique on a small paper version, then design and draw artwork that will go towards a giant Jacob's Ladder, hung from the gallery ceiling for the rest of the exhibition.
🪢 What you'll do
- Learn the fold and bind technique using paper.
- Design and draw two images to bind together, watching them appear and disappear as your small ladder tumbles.
- Create artwork that will be used to build a giant Jacob's Ladder, hung in the gallery later in the project.
