We meet at the Crown Gate East entrance at 6pm and find our spot on the grass. There's music (portable speaker, no permits needed). There are hula hoops, frisbees, bubbles. There is food from everywhere. There is the long July evening light that makes everything look like a painting.
THE ONE THING TO BRING
One item of food or drink from your culture, your country, your grandmother's kitchen, or your favourite corner shop. It doesn't need to be homemade. It doesn't need to be expensive. It just needs to be something you want to share.
This is how we learn about each other. This is how community actually happens.
THE DRESS CODE
All green — emerald, sage, forest, mint, olive, khaki, lime. Florals welcome if they're green-led. The more shades of green we have, the more beautiful the photos.
WHY A THURSDAY EVENING?
Because Go Inspire is for every woman — including women who work weekends, women with children in school, women who can't always make Saturdays work. A Thursday evening in summer means the park is quieter, the light is extraordinary, and the women who come chose this deliberately.
WHY VICTORIA PARK?
Because East London is where so much of London's immigrant community lives and works, and Go Inspire is a city-wide organisation. Victoria Park is the heartbeat of that community — diverse, alive, and full of exactly the women we want to be in community with.
WHAT ELSE TO BRING
A picnic blanket. Something to sit on. Your green outfit. Your best self. That's it.
