Rusty Sells began his public safety career in 2003 with the Johnson City Fire Department (JCFD), following eight years of service in the United States Air Force. He quickly advanced his qualifications, becoming a Hazardous Materials Technician and later earning recognition as a Hazardous Materials Specialist for the State of Tennessee. Rusty also obtained instructor credentials in both firefighting and hazardous materials.
