Ghost Cat Rodeo blends twangy charm with a cosmic country edge, bringing a warm, lived-in sound to every room they play. Formed in the early 2020s, the band grew naturally out of long-running musical friendships and a shared love of rich harmonies, pedal steel, and rowdy, heartfelt songs. After a stretch of writing in the basement and finding their footing, they soon took their sound to clubs throughout Rhode Island and beyond.After a brief pause in 2023, Ghost Cat Rodeo returned with new energy in 2024, celebrating the community around them and rediscovering the joy of playing together. Since then, they’ve been performing regularly at spots like Myrtle and Nick-A-Nees, along with a rotating cast of other beloved venues.
In early 2025, the band earned two nominations in Motif Magazine’s Rhode Island Music Awards—Favorite Americana and Favorite Country. That summer, they were featured in Season 6 of RI PBS’s Ocean State Sessions (Episode 602). And they’re just getting started.
