Ghazal Queen Vatsala Mehra

Vatsala Mehra, winner of the Best International Woman Ghazal Singer Award and the Best

International Sufi Singer award, has been acclaimed worldwide for her diverse repertoire that

includes 17 CDs/Albums, recorded with major music companies in India. Ms. Mehra learnt under

the guidance of the Late Guru, “Ustad Momin Khan“of the pioneering “Lucknow Gharana.”

Vatsala Mehra, besides having performed all over the world, is the only ghazal artist to have

performed four times at the prestigious Kennedy Center (located in Washington DC) including

the “Maximum India Festival;” and was the first Indian American performer at Wolf Trap

(located in Northern Virginia). She was the only female artist representing India as a solo singer

at Maximum India Festival. India Abroad has given her the title of “Queen of Ghazals.” A quote

of the Theater, left her audience enthralled and awestruck.
