Contributing to the University of Florida’s Climb to Top 5
Lula S. Dawit is passionate about philanthropy and arts advocacy. After completing her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida, Lula moved to Atlanta in 2010 to practice law in the area of wills, trusts, probate administration and business litigation. In 2015, Lula made the leap from law
practice to philanthropy and is currently the Director of Advancement for the College of the Arts at the University of Florida, where she has served in this role since November,2019. Prior to joining UF, Lula was the Director of Gift Planning for the Woodruff Arts Center, the third-largest arts in the U.S.; home to the High Museum of Art, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Alliance Theatre. Before Woodruff, Lula was a gift planning officer at Spelman College, ranked among the top 20 best women’s colleges in the U.S. and the No. 1 Historically Black College and University (H.B.C.U) since 2007. Lula is an active member of Association of Fundraising Professionals, Planned Giving Council and the Fiduciary Planning and Probate sections of the State Bar of Georgia. She is immediate past-President of the Georgia Planned Giving Council, Immediate-Past President of the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art’s Advisory Board at Kennesaw State University, and an alumni of LEAD Atlanta.
