About this Event
Join us for a in-depth chat about publishing your romance novel.
The romance book market is more crowded than ever -- but demand has never been so high. As the stigma around self-publishing has vanished, it has never been easier to get your start as an author and connect with readers. But that doesn't mean traditional publishing is dead -- it just means the way we think about it has changed. I'll talk candidly about getting your start on indie platforms before talking about the agented, traditional publishing process and leave you with some actionable tips to get you motivated to put your writing out there.
Lecturer bio:
Rachel Kolman is a writer and instructor based in Seattle. She has an MFA in creative writing and has taught writing classes for over a decade. While most of her career has been spent as a freelancer, she's returned now to the genre in which she fell in love with writing --- romance -- to connect with readers who yearn for love stories as much as she does. She has two self published romance novels and two out with agents, with many more ideas in the works. She lives in Ballard with her husband and two tuxedo cats.
This event will take place at Swoon City, 1716 NW Market St, kitty corner from Mighty-o Donuts. If you aren't able to attend, you can exchange your ticket for another class on our current schedule.
