Schedule: The course runs in two sessions — morning and afternoon, with a 45-minute lunch break. Participants are encouraged to bring a packed lunch, or they may use nearby facilities.
Morning Session: Setting Up Your Business
Participants will learn how to register as self-employed or as a community organisation with HMRC, and understand when and how to do so. Understand basic tax and National Insurance responsibilities.
Identify the insurance requirements and essential policies necessary for working safely and legally in the care sector. Access appropriate training opportunities through signposted resources.
Manage basic bookkeeping, plan cash flow, and forecast earnings effectively.
Afternoon Session: Growing and Promoting Your Service.
Participants will explore:
The Micro Provider Portfolio – its purpose, content, and timing.
Marketing fundamentals and simple strategies to attract and retain customers.
How to use the “Help My Way” website to promote services and reach clients.
Opportunities for local networking and collaboration with other providers
