Our in-house roasted almonds, pecans, cashews, and peanuts are known for their extra-large size and deep flavor. They’re roasted daily in small batches by experts in our South Austin store. Maybe you know and love them as a graze-board staple, a heart-healthy hiking snack on the trail, or you routinely sprinkle them onto your breakfast yogurt? In class, we’ll show you how to take their culinary potential to the next level, adding protein, texture, and richness to elevate appetizers and entrées in exciting ways you can show off at your next dinner party.
Expertise is learned and deliciously earned in our kitchens — with our recipes and tips, soon you’ll be known for your flaky, melty cheese-filled appetizers, and your signature Thai-inspired stir-fry. As you create Almond-Crusted Chicken Breast, you’ll learn how the technique of using various chopped nuts can be so versatile and applied to your favorite proteins, from fish to lamb chops. In a finale of a dessert, ground peanuts will be showcased in both a tart crust and rich filling sure to please any peanut-butter cup fan.
At the end of class you’ll get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the fruits (and nuts) of your labor over a lovely meal.
You will be working in a small group. For ages 18 and up. 21 or older? You’ll enjoy a glass of wine paired with your meal.
