GetSmART! Artist Websites (IN PERSON ONLY)

Let’s talk about websites for artists! Join creative consultant and photographer Katie Adkins as she delves into the ins and outs of websites, photography and web designs for artists.

This is a hybrid event with limited space. Please register for either in person or online, not both. Online seats are available via Eventbrite or by emailing [email protected].

Even with social media platforms and online directories, individual artists benefit from having professional-looking websites. Galleries and potential buyers review websites when considering shows, exhibitions and curations. What you present and how you do it matter in today’s art market.

Our event will connect you with resources and help you determine your next, first steps for your website. Unlock your potential with key questions, such as:

• How can you tell if your website looks good and meets your needs?
• Photos: What makes a good photo for your website? What makes a great headshot? How can you make your own photos look professional?
• You have your bio, artist statement and resume, now what? How to put context and text into your website.
• DIY website options? How can artists keep costs down?

Two participants at the event also will receive free, one-on-one website or photography consultations as part of this event. Participants must attend either online or in person to be considered for these sessions. Register ASAP because we only have 12 in-person seats!

Katie Adkins is the founder and creative director of Studio A Creative Services, a multidisciplinary, creative studio offering web design, marketing and branding, photography, and artist mentorships.

Adkins is a freelance photojournalist and an exhibiting, fine artist. Her work straddles documentary photography and fine arts, and her current exhibition is at Boswell Mourot Fine Art, which represents her.

Adkins graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and has practiced the art of photography for more than 15 years. She worked with Magnum photographers Martin Parr and Alex Webb along with Rebecca Norris-Webb on their creative projects including Martin Parr's commissioned show for the High Museum of Art's "Picturing the South" series in 2012.

Adkins is the recipient of a 2026 Catalyze Fellowship grant from Mid-America Arts Alliance and the Windgate Foundation. She was accepted to the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts 2025-2027 and 2023-2025.
