About this Event

An innovative dance performance that activates the architecture of Redeemer West Side through contemporary choreography and original music.

An innovative dance performance that activates the architecture of Redeemer Presbyterian Church through contemporary choreography.

Gethsemane is a site-specific dance performance that activates the architecture of Redeemer West Side through contemporary choreography and original music across Redeemer's sanctuary and balcony spaces. This innovative experience will allow audience members to encounter beauty and contemplation through witnessing the body in motion, revealing the space in intimate and unexpected ways.

This performance is directed and choreographed by Lindsey Hanson in collaboration with the dancers and creative team, led by Director of Photography, Jonny Yepez, and Production Manager Ashe Villas Boas. With an original score composed by Jonathan Gabhart, this live show features New York City's leading dance artists.

Following Hanson's previous works, Sanctuary (Redeemer Presbyterian, NYC) and Selah (University of Notre Dame, associate choreographer: Kaleigh Estby), this next phase continues to explore how dance can transform sacred spaces, inviting audiences to see familiar places with new eyes.

There will be a reception with the creative after the 7pm performance.

This project is generously funded by The Creative Arts Collective.
