Getaway to Kenya! A Benefit Dinner by Getaway Growth

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, we believe it is imperative for both leaders and ordinary citizens to be aware of how they are interrelated with people in other parts of the world. As we also experience an era of unprecedented world challenges, underserved communities need help more than ever. At Getaway Growth, we believe enriching opportunities such as transformative travel and experiential learning abroad will help prepare students to develop the nuance and understanding needed for real-world interactions and become even more marketable as global leaders of tomorrow especially, in steep market economies. It is our mission to remove barriers and facilitate access to international travel for underserved youth in the United States. Getaway Growth helps overcome these barriers by planning and providing fully-funded trips. We offer our students an opportunity of a lifetime. In returning home, we hope to open new paths for life and work along with a mindset of possibility.

Since our founding in 2021, Getaway Growth has worked hard with a valued partner in Kenya, EDU Africa and a number of non-profit organizations and community leaders to organize diverse and meaningful experiences for our student cohorts. This summer, we took a cohort of five students from the United States based out of California, and they joined five students from our host country, Kenya. During their two weeks journey, our students explored areas that are most critical in transformation including, intercultural competence, ethical service learning, and environmental stewardship.
