GET TO KNOW YOU

Victory in Self-Awareness (VISA) helps girls and teen girls ways to exercise their power over their circumstances. This program was originally designed for the work we provide for Columbus City Schools; however, we have answered the call of parents whose child doesn't attend the schools the program is held and requested that we make it available to all girls! Get to Know You workshops will be held every Saturday, starting September 21st and ending on October 19th. This is a 5-week series that discusses challenges faced by particularly Black and Brown girls - feeling unseen and unheard. The workshops aim to empower participants by exploring topics like self-acceptance, identifying healthy and unhealthy traits, body image, and mental resiliency.

The program is facilitated by experienced mentors who understand the lived experiences of the target demographic. They will provide a safe and supportive environment for the girls to explore their emotions, share their stories, and learn from one another.

By the end of the 5-week series, the participants will have a heightened sense of self-awareness, a stronger support system, and the tools necessary to thrive in the face of adversity. VISA is committed to helping our Black and Brown girls have victory over their circumstances!

Snacks are provided at each session and participates have the opportunity to earn reward points to qualify for gift cards.
