About this Event

We’d love to bring people together for an informal chat about what kind of changes and investment would make the biggest difference to our neighbourhood. The focus will be on making sure any funding benefits the people who live, work and spend time here — even though others might benefit too, the investment itself will stay local.

At the session, we’ll talk a bit about what Pride in Place is all about — including the area we’re focusing on, how much funding there is, and the timeframe we’re working with. We’ll also explain how things will be run, including the neighbourhood board and how people can stay involved over time (and how to get involved if that interests you).

Mostly though, this is about listening and sharing ideas. We want to hear what people already love about the area, what’s working well, and what we could build on. Just as importantly, we’ll explore what could be improved, what needs to change, and what really matters most to the community.

We’ll chat about the kinds of things the funding could be used for, as well as different ways of working together that might help make those ideas happen. There’ll also be space to think about how residents, local businesses, community groups and neighbourhood organisations can all play a part.

If you’re part of a VCSE organisation, we’re really keen to hear how you’d like to be involved going forward, and how the programme could support your work too.

And finally, we’ll start thinking about some “quick wins” — simple ideas we could get started on early with initial funding, while the bigger investment plan is being developed.
