Featured speaker France Makabu-Gordon, MBA, Global Real Estate Strategist and Luxury Broker, will provide a brief overview of SBE Certification and SBA Loans, including how certification can create access to government contracting opportunities and how SBA-backed funding may support business startup, expansion, equipment, working capital, and other eligible needs.
The featured presentation will focus on the Black & Invested Investment Competition, an initiative created to connect entrepreneurs with education, resources, community support, and potential investment opportunities. Attendees will learn how the program works, what participants receive, and how to get involved.

France Makabu-Gordon, MBA
Real Estate Broker | Economic Development Advocate
France Makabu-Gordon is a licensed real estate broker and entrepreneur based in West Palm Beach, working at the intersection of housing access, small business growth, and community wealth building.
Through Makabu Gordon LLC, she manages short-term rental properties and supports government contracting education, helping local entrepreneurs understand programs like SBA loans, HUBZone certification, and SBE certification through the Office of Small and Minority/Women Business Enterprise.
She also leads Black & Invested, an adult investment education program, and Young & Invested, a financial literacy initiative for teens, both built to expand economic opportunity across the community.
France's dissertation research, part of her PhD in Psychology at Keiser University, focuses on closing the homeownership gap. She holds an MBA from Western Kentucky University. She has been recognized among Florida's Top 50 Realtors and as a Top 40 Under 40 Leader of South Florida for her work expanding access to homeownership and investment.
She serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Club and the Sickle Cell Foundation, and leads organizations including Africans in Florida and the Urban League of Palm Beach County, connecting residents to the tools and networks needed for long-term economic mobility.
