Get going with Grow Your Own (Beginners) with Julia and Jacky

This talk focuses on how to get the most value from growing. A showcase with a wide variety of plants, explaining the need to consider first and foremost, the importance of choosing the most nutritious varieties, looking at the latest research and the holistic health benefits of plants and superfood nutrition.

Julia and Jacky will cover the latest trends such as no dig, permaculture, forest gardening, crop rotation, growing from seed benefits, choosing the best varieties and general trouble shooting.

The success of a kitchen garden requires consideration of all these elements and part of the fun is discovering and learning about all these elements:-

Julia is an extremely knowledgeable horticulturalist, who has a passion for "The Kitchen Garden". She comes from a family in Ireland who grew vegetables commercially. She studied Botany at Trinity College Dublin, Kinsealy Research Centre and The Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin.

Julia has designed several gardens including the garden for Princess Anne's visit to the Paddocks Housing Trust, and frequently gives horticultural talks, writes garden articles for local magazines and recently developed a gardening YouTube channel.

Arrive at 10.15 am for 10.30 am start. The talk ends at 12 noon.
