About this Event

Get Families Talking Workshop

Part of Brum Financial Futures, presented by Birmingham City Council in partnership with the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), and produced and delivered by AND Capital Projects (ANDCP).

Join Smartlyte for a lively and interactive family workshop designed to get parents, carers, and children talking about money in fun and meaningful ways.

In this Get Families Talking session, you’ll explore the world of affordable credit, learn how to spot the dangers of loan sharks, and discover how to make safe, smart financial choices together.

Through games, stories, and hands-on activities, families will:

  • Understand the risks of illegal money lending
  • Learn where to find safe and affordable financial support
  • Build confidence in having money conversations at home

Every family will also receive a free copy of the children’s book “Amsty Meets Mr Loan Shark” to keep the conversation going long after the workshop ends.

Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your family — let’s make money talk a positive, empowering part of everyday life.
