Join us for a fun and creative craft workshop where you'll get to make an adorable book nook or diorama using recycled materials.
Get Crafty with Recycled Book Nooks
Come join us at Noarlunga Library for a fun and creative event where we will be making Recycled Book Nooks ! Let your imagination run wild as you transform old books and book boxes into secret worlds to tuck into your bookshelves.
This is a free workshop where you will be able to create a DIY book nook inspired by the popular hobby kit "shelf inserts" available from retailers like Sakura Densya , Ro Life and Spotlight (pictured below).
Each participant will be able to make a shelf insert, diorama or corner bookend out of old box sets or books, and create a series of miniature items to decorate them.
Materials we'll be using include paper, cardboard, popsicle sticks, glue guns, thin plywood, scrapbooking paper, and miniature recycled items such as buttons, bottlecaps, beads and push pins. This workshop will use also glue guns, craft glue and paint pens.
Photos below are inspiration only and the book nooks created will depend on participant's choices and the available recycled materials. LED lighting not supplied.
