Sit back and nosh on some samples paired with a short flight of brews as our in-house sausage meister delves into the techniques:
- Meat Selection & Preparation: Learn how to choose the right cuts of meat, considering the ideal lean-to-fat ratios, and prepare them for grinding.
- Grinding Techniques: Master the art of grinding meat to achieve the perfect texture and bind for your sausages.
- Seasoning & Mixing: Discover the traditional German spice blends and techniques for mixing to ensure a well-seasoned and flavorful sausage.
- Stuffing & Linking: Gain hands-on experience using a sausage stuffer and learn the method for filling natural or collagen casings and creating beautifully linked sausages.
- Safe Handling & Storage: Understand the crucial aspects of food safety when handling and storing raw and finished sausages.
- Cooking Methods: Learn the best ways to cook your fresh German sausages to perfection.
At the end of class, you’ll sit and enjoy the sausages you’ve made, paired with sides.
Hands-on. You will be cooking with a small team in this class. For ages 21 & up.
Menu
- Bratwurst (Beer-simmered sausage, then grilled on a bun and served with mustard)
- Currywurst (Pan-fried sausage in spiced sauce)
- Weisswurst (White sausage that’s boiled with sauerkraut)
Safety & Precautions
At check-in, you will be asked to sign a waiver before entering the Cooking School.
For that reason, we ask that all attendees arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the confirmed start time of the class.
