German Language Day at the United Nations

This year GTS is partnering with the Permanent Mission of Austria to the UN in New York and the German Film Office to host a film screening on 1 July.

When Austrian author Ingeborg Bachmann and Swiss writer Max Frisch meet in Paris in 1958, they embark on a passionate and destructive love affair. Over time, artistic disagreements and Max Frisch’s all-consuming jealousy mar their initially harmonious union. And yet, even years later, Ingeborg Bachmann cannot let go of the memory of her love for him. On a trip to the desert, she tries to come to terms with their relationship and to free herself from it.
Doors open at 5.45pm, opening remarks at 6.15pm. The movie screening starts at 6.30pm. The event is free, but registration is required by 26 June.
