German Beer and Cheese Tasting

Take a bier halle–inspired journey through Germany as you taste your way through a flight of beer styles that let you discover and differentiate the country’s distinct regional styles. As you taste, you’ll learn about the history, production methods, and pairing principles behind classic beer and cheese combinations.

Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or new to the world of German beer and cheese pairing, this class offers a delightful and educational experience for all. Get ready to awaken your taste buds and discover your new favorite German pairing!

For ages 21 & up. Demonstration. You will not be cooking in this class.

You can expect to taste a curated selection of iconic German beer styles, such as:

Pilsner/Helles - Light and refreshing lagers with a delicate balance of hop bitterness and malt sweetness.

Weissbier (Hefeweizen) - Cloudy wheat beers known for their distinctive banana and clove aromas, originating in Bavaria.

Dunkel - Dark lagers showcasing caramel and toasted notes, often paired with traditional Bavarian dishes.

Rauchbier: Smoked lagers from Bamberg, offering a unique and intense smoky flavor.

Bock/Doppelbock - Stronger, malty lagers often enjoyed during the cooler months.

We’ll also explore a range of German cheeses, including:

Cambozola - A creamy blue cheese blending the richness of Camembert with the tang of Gorgonzola.

Allgäuer Emmentaler - A hard cheese with a mild, nutty flavor and characteristic Alpine holes.

Limburger - A soft, aromatic cheese with a pungent aroma, traditionally paired with dark bread, onions, and dark beer.

Butterkäse - A creamy, mild cow's milk cheese with a buttery flavor, also known as "ladies cheese".

Safety & Precautions

• At check-in, you will be asked to sign a waiver before entering the Cooking School.

• For that reason, we ask that all attendees arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the confirmed start time of the class.
